Sometimes, life knocks you flat. And sometimes… you flip it the bird — with a big, bright, unapologetic smile.
That’s exactly how “In Your Face” was born.
After I told my ten year old Alfie that I’d been made redundant from my brekky radio gig, he looked at me, grinned, and said, “YES! IN YOUR FACE MIX!" Nothing against the radio station, he was just happy to have him mum back in the mornings.
In that single, innocent moment, the sting of rejection, all melted into something stronger. Something joyful. Something powerful.
So I picked up my brushes and painted what that feeling looked like:
a cheeky, colourful, up-yours finger to life.
Not angry.
Not bitter.
Just bold.
Because In Your Face isn’t about saying “screw you” to anyone — it’s about saying “I’m still standing” to everything.
To losing your job.
To being told you’re not good enough.
To cancer.
To bad days.
To breakups.
To the morons who try to dim your light.
It’s for every person who’s ever been knocked down — and got back up with a laugh, a swear word, and a rainbow-coloured middle finger in the air.
The colours are loud for a reason. They’re the proof that whatever’s around the corner is bursting with joy.
